Lithuania

Lithuania is located in the South of the Baltic region and is sometimes called “Northern Italy”. There are several reasons for this name. The first one is the Lithuanian people themselves who are more temperamental than the residents of neighboring Latvia and Estonia. The second reason is the baroque that is untypical for the Baltic states. This characteristic best suits the Apennines, but Vilnius is also famous for this. And the third one is the passion to the sport, especially basketball. So we can find a lot of similarities between the two countries.

But our task is not to find the similarities between states but to show how Lithuania differs by its originality. What makes Lithuania different from other states is the variety of vacations, high service level and reasonable prices.

You can spent your summer vacations in such Lithuanian cities as Palanga, Klaipeda and Neringa. There are also numerous spa-resorts in Lithuania and the most important of them is Druskininkai that offers active sport besides the recreation. Active rest also includes yachting along the Curonian Spit and different excursions along picturesque Lithuanian places. Mental recreation includes tours to Vilnius and Kaunas, acquaintance with Lithuanian jazz, an opportunity to live in a true rural Lithuanian house on the shore of the main Lithuanian river Neman (Nyamunas).

Lithuania is an absolutely democratic tourist state. Lithuanian hotels include 5-star super complexes with “all included” and modest hostels where you can book a room for a night.

An ideal place to get acquainted with the Lithuanian cuisine and traditions is numerous cafes that you can find everywhere from its capital to a tiny Zarasai. The pride of the nation is the Lithuanian cheese that is an ideal combination to the Lithuanian beer, which is served with the main course.
