At the main square of Vilnius, close to the Cathedral, a monument to the founder of present capital of Lithuania, to the Grand Duke Lithuanian Gediminas is situated. The monument has been created by Lithuanian sculptor Vitaytas Kashuba and opened rather recently, in 1996.
