Culture

The Apparition Chapel in Šiluva is 44 metres high. The present-day Apparition Chapel was completed between 1922 and 1924 and consecrated on 8 September 1924. It is the only completed and still-preserved monumental building designed by the architect and sculptor Antanas Vivulskis.

The present-day brick Basilica of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary is a late Baroque basilica and was consecrated on 8 September 1786. The image of the Virgin Mary located in the basilica was solemnly crowned on 8 September 1786.

The museum displays the unique Infulat vestments, the only ones of their kind in Lithuania.

Pilgrimage Tradition

The Šilinės Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary takes place from 8 to 15 September. The Pilgrim Information Centre is located at Jurgaičio g. 17 in Šiluva.

Nature

The Stations of the Cross through the Šiluva Forest are 2.5 km long and lead to the Apparition Chapel.

The 21 km Šiaulės kalnas–Šiluva pilgrimage route runs partly through Tytuvėnai Regional Park.
