A village along the road

Ginučiai is laid out as a street village. The homes on both sides of the street were built with their gables facing the street; the farm buildings stand behind them. This arrangement gives the village a distinct spatial character: the street, the house gables and the farm buildings set back from the road all form part of the same layout. Visitors to Ginučiai can therefore understand the village’s character not just from its name, but also from the described orientation of its buildings.

The road also plays a part in finding your way along the P6, as the directions lead to the village’s main road at the T-junction. The watermill and historical surroundings
