In 1979, the Lithuanian folklore audio recording “I. Žuolytės užrašytos tautosakos garso įrašas” was made in Margiškiai. Services in Lithuanian and German were held at the Lutheran house of prayer in Margiškiai.

History

The Margiškiai estate existed until the beginning of the 20th century. Then five brothers from the Nasvyčiai family bought it and divided it among themselves.

The historic settlement of Ariškėnai, whose site today includes Margiškiai among other places, probably already existed in the late 14th or early 15th century, or emerged after the older settlement of Ariškiai was divided.

The old cemetery of Margiškiai lies northeast of the former settlement site. Around 2015, after an overgrown area had been cleared, the former settlement site of Margiškiai became a meeting place for former residents and an attractive place to visit.
