Dievogala: Hotels and Accommodation
The site of the Jewish massacre and the grave in Dievogala are a nationally significant cultural heritage site with historical and memorial value. At the end of summer 1941, approximately 40 Jewish men from Jankai, Paežerėlis and Zapyškis were killed and buried there in an execution organized by the National Socialists. Culture and History
The classicist chapel of the old cemetery of Zapyškis (“Zapyškio senųjų kapinių koplyčia”) in Dievogala was built around 1860. Old cemetery crosses are preserved in the chapel, including surviving hand-forged crosses. The old cemetery of Zapyškis is considered an important cultural and historical site in the Suvalkija region. During the period of the Lithuanian press ban, inscriptions in Lithuanian and the local dialect were placed on stone gravestones and memorials.
In the Papiškės-Novos partisan bunker in Dievogala, nineteen partisans sought refuge at various times in 1944 and 1945, both in hiding and for medical treatment.
By the Water
“Nemuno7” is a cultural ship and floating dredger, as well as a public cultural venue next to the Zapyškis landing stage. It serves as a center for visual art, media, technology, science and creative work. The Zapyškis landing stage at Muziejaus g. 2 in Dievogala is used by tourists boarding and disembarking to visit local sights and cultural events.
Local History
The old Zapyškis Church of St. John the Baptist (“Senoji Zapyškio Šv. Jono Krikštytojo bažnyčia”) in Dievogala has a history dating back to the 16th century. It has an organ that was formerly described as the “king of Lithuanian organs.”

Landscape
Dievogalos Švento Jono upelis is a sacred site on the edge of the Nemunas Valley. According to tradition, the water of Dievogalos Švento Jono upelis had healing properties.
