The Gargždai Regional Museum presents a permanent ethnographic exhibition from the late 19th to the mid-20th century, the exhibition “Interwar Gargždai 1918–1939” and the exhibition “Views of Old Gargždai”, updated in 2015. It reconstructs a border area, an early 20th-century classroom and a historic post office. It also offers educational activities for schoolchildren, adults and families.
The Gargždai pedestrian viaduct is an engineering monument of regional significance from the interwar period.
The Church of Saint Michael the Archangel in Gargždai is a postmodernist brick church built in 1989–1990. Its churchyard preserves a 19th-century stone bell tower and a Neoclassical chapel.
The “Minija” Cinema in Gargždai houses an exhibition of cinema and photographic equipment. New films and premieres are shown there in a hall equipped with a digital projector and 3D technology.
Nature
The “Prie rubežiaus” circular trail in Gargždai can be explored independently or with a guide; numbered information boards and map extracts indicate the location of the next board.
Gargždai City Park was established in the first half of the 19th century on the slope of the Minija River. It has a stepped path leading down to the river and offering views of the Minija Valley. The Minija River flows alongside Gargždai. In summer, the Minija River near Gargždai is a popular attraction for kayakers.
