Culture

The history of Dubingiai is closely connected with the Radvila family. In the 16th and 17th centuries, their palace and an Evangelical Reformed church stood here. This connection is a specific cultural reference for travelers interested in the history of the nobility.

A Catholic church was founded at the site of Dubingiai Castle Hill before 1430; the foundation is attributed to Grand Duke Vytautas.

The church, built in the first half of the 19th century, was destroyed by a major fire in 1954; the rectory survived.

The religious history of Dubingiai also reflects the changes of the Reformation era: the church passed to the Evangelical Lutherans. The Catholics initially held their services in a cemetery chapel before later receiving new Catholic places of worship.

Nature

Dubingiai lies on the shore of Lake Asveja, which is described as the longest lake in Lithuania.
