Due to great outflow of a labor on the West, Lithuania is going to involve the qualified labor from the countries, which are not members of EU, thus it happens so, that Lithuania will avoid obligations to EU regarding the given matter. The above mentioned decision was accepted at the Government’s panel session in December. Now, if the organization cannot find required workers, it will be possible to involve them from abroad.

Thus preference will be given to highly experienced workers from the former Soviet republics: Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova and the countries of Southern Caucasus. These workers in 3-4 weeks can obtain necessary documents for work already in 3-4 weeks, and qualified employees that the enterprises are sharply lack of, can receive documents not later, than within 2 months.

There is also taken into consideration the opportunity for these employees to search for work in Lithuania already within 3 months after the end of their labor contracts. It is planned to organize the Lithuanian language course for the above mentioned workers. Thus these workers will participate in the program of integration.
