Partnership between choirs from Lithuania and Germany

Music transcends borders and brings cultures and generations together, as demonstrated by the choirs from Lithuania and Germany, united by their love of music. The friendship between the choirs of Albert Schweitzer Grammar School in Crailsheim and Giedrius Gymnasium in Jurbarkas, Lithuania, is a fine example of the “power of music” and recently reached a high point with a joint concert by the Lithuanian and German choirs.

A joint concert that will remain unforgettable for everyone involved

The choirs of Albert Schweitzer Grammar School in Crailsheim have already visited their partner town in Lithuania three times. The choir from Lithuania is currently in Crailsheim on a return visit. This is the Lithuanians’ second stay with their partners in Germany. The Lithuanian choir’s visit reached its high point last Monday evening with an impressive joint concert that delighted performers and audience members alike.

An impressive performance by the choir from Lithuania

The choirgirls from Jurbarkas, dressed in blue costumes, sang songs about their beautiful homeland of Lithuania, about blooming gardens and a bird named Pempel. In honor of their German hosts, they also sang “Schwarzbraun ist die Haselnuss,” the song that once made German singer Heino famous. The Lithuanian guests gave an impressive performance, clearly showcasing the talented voices among the singers: The choir, founded in 1991, has already made a name for itself in the Baltic region thanks to its high standard, and has repeatedly taken part in national and international song and choral festivals across Europe and the Baltic region, with great success.
