The “Guest Card” to be issued in Vilnius
This spring, the Vilnius Tourist Information Centre will issue a special discount card, the “Guest Card”. The card gives visitors free access to public transport in Vilnius and free admission to museums and exhibitions, as well as discounts at participating restaurants, cafés, health centres and shops, and when booking excursions with tour companies.

Similar cards are issued in many tourist cities, but Vilnius will introduce one for the first time as part of the “Vilnius – European Capital of Culture 2009” programme, which began in January and includes a wide range of initiatives to attract tourists to the Lithuanian capital. According to the organisers, the number of tourists visiting Vilnius is expected to increase by 15 percent. Various cultural events will be held throughout the year to help the city’s guests learn more about it.
The Guest Card will be sold at Vilnius Tourist Information Centres throughout the city and will be available in two versions, valid for 24 or 72 hours. It will also be possible to order the Guest Card online.
