Vilnius Visitors Card

This spring the Vilnius center of the tourist information will give out a special discount card - the Vilnius Visitors Card. This card allows to use free of charge public transport in Vilnius, to visit museums and exhibitions free of charge, to receive discounts at restaurants, cafe, the fitness centers, shops, by order of excursions at the travel agencies, participating in the action.

The similar card is issued in many tourist cities, but in Vilnius it will be given out for the first time within the while Vilnius is European Cultural Capital for this year. The Vilnius Visitors Card is is developed especially for the tourists, who will visit the capital of Lituania during the many Events during the year of  “Vilnius – the cultural capital of the Europe 2009”, which has started since January 2009. According to the organizers, the numbers of tourist to visitit the city of Vilnius is expected to increased on 15 per cent mostly because of this event. Summer and winter alike various cultural actions will be held allowing the visitors of the city to learn more about it.

The Vilnius Visitors Card will be on sale in the Vilnius centers of the tourist information all over the town and on validity they will be of two types: for 24 or for 72 hours. It will be also possible to order the Vilnius Visitors Card in the Internet.
